Built differently from the start

BlueStone Advisors was born from a simple but powerful idea: middle market companies deserve the same level of expertise and advocacy as the largest firms—delivered with personal attention and purpose.

BlueStone Advisors began in 2012, sparked by a late-night conversation between Tracie and Andy over red wine, where they reflected on the shifting insurance landscape after the 2008 financial crisis. With complementary backgrounds in insurance, sales, technology, finance, and operations, they saw a unique opportunity to create something different.

Andy, a former broker at HUB and Aon, had witnessed firsthand the surge in brokerage M&A activity, predicting a growing gap for clients seeking personalized service — not the impersonal experience of large brokerages. His intuition proved correct: industry deals rose from under 350 in 2008 to an annual peak of 1,066 in 2021. In the decade from 2015-2024, a total of 7,569 U.S. brokerage firms have been absorbed through M&A activity.

For her part, Tracie brought two decades of expertise in tech, finance, and project management, recognizing how the insurance industry as a whole lagged in innovation. She envisioned a nimble, efficient, and environmentally conscious firm — one that embraced modern tools and values.

Together, they also saw a deeper issue: a lack of female leadership in both insurance and financial services. So, they built BlueStone — a boutique brokerage firm focused on personalized service, smart technology, and meaningful relationships.
