Position Overview

The Account Manager is a client-obsessed advisor who maintains and cultivates positive working relationships. Responsible for the day-to-day account management for moderately complex client accounts, this role manages a book of business by acting with integrity and anticipating client needs. They win as a team by establishing a valuable connection between carriers, clients, and internal partners to drive growth and client retention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cultivate strong, lasting relationships with clients and carriers by combining advocacy, proactive communication, and scheduled touch points with a deep understanding of insurance expertise.
  • Leverage partnerships to deliver value-driven solutions, strengthen trust, and ensure a client-obsessed, team-oriented experience.
  • Provide strategic insurance consultation by analyzing current programs for coverage gaps, risk management, and enhancement opportunities, delivering recommendations with integrity and a client-obsessed approach.
  • Market new and existing clients with integrity and expertise by obtaining accurate quotations through online rating systems or direct submissions to underwriting.
  • Manage underwriting, premium negotiations, and renewal strategies with a client-obsessed, solution-focused approach, ensuring quality results and clear communication.
  • Support accurate client documentation and policy management by ensuring all processes are completed with precision and quality.
  • Verify that issued policies align with quoted, proposed, and bound coverages, demonstrating accountability and attention to detail.
  • Lead and participate in client-facing engagements—including in-person check-ins, renewals, and strategy sessions—ensuring consistency, trust, and alignment with client objectives.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to align on client renewals, strategy, and shared objectives, contributing ideas and solutions with a spirit of collaboration.
  • Coordinate proactively with Management to ensure accurate invoicing and premium processing, including finance agreement requests and premium allocations, completed with efficiency and accountability.
  • Support team members by reviewing documents, issuing certificates, maintaining files, and preparing proposals and summaries with accuracy and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service to review quotes and coverages, gather needed information, and deliver accurate, client-focused proposals that align with client needs.

Requirements
  •  A "Win as a Team" mindset, with the ability to collaborate relentlessly with internal and external partners.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate candidly and explain detailed policy concepts simply.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite is preferred.
  • Experience in the Vertafore AMS360 Software preferred, or basic knowledge of an Agency Management System.
  • Knowledge of, and practical experience in, staple insurance products - General Liability, Commercial Property, Auto, Umbrella, and Workers’ Compensation.
  • A minimum of 3 years of insurance brokerage or industry experience.
  • Commercial Property & Casualty License required or obtained within 6 months of employment.

Compensation

At BlueStone, we value fairness, transparency, and a supportive culture. Compensation for this position is based on experience, skills, responsibilities, internal equity, and market conditions. In alignment with the Equal Pay Act, employees performing substantially similar work receive equal pay opportunities.

Pay Range: $65,000 – $90,000

Bonus Eligibility: Bonus Eligible
